Remains Detained in SDNY

COURTHOUSE,
Aug 20 – For the July 21, 2023
armed robbery of a marijuana
dealer, Alex Mitchell was
Federally indicted on August
8, 2024.
On August
20 he was brought by U.S.
Marshals before U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Magistrate Judge Ona T. Wang.
Inner City Press was there,
the only media in the SDNY Mag
court.
Judge Wang
informed Mitchell he is
charged in three counts:
conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act
robbery, substantive Hobbs Act
robbery and use of a firearm.
The Federal
Defender said he consented to
detention, as he is already in
state detention. The AUSA said
the assigned District Judge
Andrew L. Carter will be
setting a conference for
August 27.
The case is
US v. Mitchell, 24-cr-469
