SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
April 11 – Sian Stafford
escaped from Federal custody
on July 26, 2023, and was
arrested two days later in an
apartment in Manhattan.
It was three
months later that she was
presented and detained in the
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrates Court, which Inner
City Press covers, often
exclusively.
Stafford had been in custody
on a Violation of Supervised
Release in connection with the
commission of a state crime,
conspiracy to commit armed
robbery in the second degree
in New Jersey.
On February
5, 2024 she appeared before
SDNY District Judge Mary Kay
Vyskocil, and pled guilty. Her
sentencing was set for May 14
- then moved up to April 15 at
11 am.
On April 11 the
US Attorney's Office wrote it
asking for a sentence of four
months.
The case is
US v. Stafford, 24-cr-69
(Vyskocil)
