COURTHOUSE,
June 20 – A man on Federal
probation who fell out of
touch from December 2023 to
mid-June was presented before
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge James Cott on
June 18. Inner City Press was
there, the only media in the
SDNY Mag Court.
Probation
and the prosecutor wanted him
detained. His Federal Defender
urged release, saying that he
has an internship beginning
July 1 and a place in an SRO
on Fulton Avenue in The
Bronx.
Judge Cott,
after inquired, released him
on his own recognizance, on
conditions including that he
report to probation on June 21
and June 28, in the run-up to
an appearance before the
re-assigned District Judge.
The case
is US v. Gregory, 18-cr-315
(Vyskocil / Cott)
