COURTHOUSE,
July 3 – The New York Jets and
the NFL have been sued by Jim
Pons, who says he designed the
Jets' logo in 1978. He began
with the Jets in 1975
operating the team's film
department. The NFL on behalf
of the team, he asserts, filed
a false trademark application.
Now
in July 2024, Pons has filed
sued in the U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York, where
Inner City Press found the
complaint in the docket.
It has been
assigned to District Judge
Jessica G.L. Clarke, who has
set an initial pre-trial
conference for October 10,
2024.
The case is
Pons v. National Football
League, et al., 24-cv-4979
(Clarke)
