Kwok Staffer Yvette Wang Offered $5M Bail While US Wants Kwok In Jail Until Trial

by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

SDNY COURTHOUSE, March 15 –  After a circus-like civil case involving Guo Wengui in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, which Inner City Press closely covered, here, March 15, 2023 saw the unsealing of a twelve-count Indictment charging

HO WAN KWOK, a/k/a “Miles Guo,” a/k/a “Miles Kwok,” a/k/a “Guo Wengui,” a/k/a “Brother Seven,” a/k/a “The Principal,” and KIN MING JE, a/k/a “William Je,”

The prosecutors said that "KWOK was arrested this morning in New York, New York, and will be presented this afternoon.  JE is currently at large."

Not mentioned was another, related arrest on March 15, of Guo's chief of staff Yangping Wang, aka Yvette Wang. Inner City Press, lone media in the Magistrates Court, live tweeted her presentment when the prosecutors, seemingly hoping to flip her as a cooperator, offered release on $5 million bond, but only with two co-signers they approve.

The complaint, signed under seal on March 10, remained under seal during the proceeding. Now it's on Patreon here. She will remain detained for now. Vlog here. Thread:

"Yvette Wang" has Jen Shah's lawyer, Priya Choudhury- who was just negotiating with the 3 AUSAs here. She was arrested early this morning.

She's charged with conspiracy to commit wire and securities fraud, G-TV. Note: Yangping Wang aka Yvette Wang has been quoted about Guo's Sherry-Netherland penthouse and is described as Guo's assistant.

AUSA: We agree to bond of $5 million, secured by $1 million in cash or real property. We have made consular notification. [She is a citizen of China]

AUSA: She is charged with a $100 million wire transfer. She is a risk of flight. Her apartment was purchased in the name of an LLC

AUSA: She and Guo have worldwide supporters, the Himalaya Farm Alliance. In her apartment this morning we found $138,000 cash in a safe, and 12 iPhones

AUSA: She had numerous Sim cards and a large Hermes bag.

AUSA: One of her entities is in the BVI. She recently did business in Dubai in the UAE. She could cut the GPS bracelet

AUSA: The two co-signers she proposed we allege are co-conspirators. Choudhury: She has $138,000 in cash because her accounts get closed in banks like Santander and Bank of America.

Judge Parker: She will detained until $5 million bond co-signed by two approved by the government.

She must disclose all assets, including accounts and any crypto-currency

Later in Guo's detention hearing, Judge Parker mentioned Silvergate Bank - follow up story coming.

Inner City Press will be covering the presentment. For now, detention memo on Patreon here.

The case is US v. Wang, 23-mj-2007 (Parker)
