SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 17 – After a circus-like
civil case involving Guo
Wengui in the U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York, which
Inner City Press closely
covered, here,
March 15, 2023 saw the
unsealing of a twelve-count
Indictment of Miles Guo
onvarious wire fraud,
securities fraud, bank fraud,
and money laundering charges.
On May 22, Inner
City Press live tweeted jury
selection, here.
Many
were excused from the jury
pool.

At the end of May
23, Judge Torres told the
remaining jurors that the
trial would start Friday. Thread.

And it did. Inner
City Press live tweeted the
opening and first two
witnesses, an FBI agent about
the Greenwich search, and a
Dallas based Lamborghini
dealer, thread here.
Jump cut to June
15, three weeks and and the
trial moving too slowly. The
defense wrote in, "We write in
response to the Court’s order
that trial next week will be
held from 9:30 am to 5 pm to
allow the government
additional time to catch up to
its previous trial
estimate.... spreadsheet
attached as Exhibit A, shows
that the defense is regularly
left with little time to
prepare for
cross-examinations, which
leads to, among other things,
prolonged examinations."

witness names) on Patreon

On June 17, from
the first extended day, thread:
OK - now in US v
Guo, cross of witness who met
William Je in London. Guo's
lawyer: Is this a declaration
you submitted in the
arbitration in London?
Witness: Yes. Judge: Break
Addendum: After
jury leaves: Assistant US
Attorney: If they are trying
to get in the entire
declaration, we oppose
that....OK - now in US v Guo,
defense lawyer asks if Miles
Guo is in a document. AUSA: We
stipulate Miles Guo is not in
it. Defense: Here is the
description of the property
Judge: Break
Now in US v
Guo, AUSA asks witness, Why
was Guo not supposed to
mention G Dollar or H Dollar?
Ms Reyes: No. AUSA: Exhibit
511, what is it? Reyes: Mr Guo
and me, in the office, on the
left side of Central Park.
AUSA: Who designed what you
wore? Reyes: G Fashion
AUSA: Did
Yvette ask yoy to take the
sweepstakes winner out to
dinner?
Reyes: She said,
Be hospitable. AUSA: Did you
talk about taking down the
CCP? Reyes: No.
And with that,
the first extended day of US
v. Guo limps to a close.
