On July 2 the
jury came back with not guilty
on RICO and sex trafficking,
guilty on counts 3 and 5,
transportation for
prostitution. Combs' lawyer
Agnifilo argued for
release on bail but was
denied, with a hearing on
expedited sentencing on July
8.
But on July 8
Agnifilo's second letter
reaffirmed October 3 for
sentencing - with US summary
of offense conduct due
on July 11 - but not docketed
as of July 29.

On July 30 Combs'
lawyer Shapiro filed a 60 page
motion for acquittal or a new
trial, arguing among other
things, "distinction between
participatory sex and
voyeurism is typically
irrelevant in Mann Act cases.
As explained, the statute’s
drafters targeted pimps and
traffickers who prostitute
vulnerable women by offering
them up to other customers,
and DOJ policy since the
mid-20th century has been
focused on such cases (along
with situations irrelevant
here involving coercion or
minors). But this is one of
the extremely rare cases in
which the statute is being
applied against a paying
customer—a john—rather than a
pimp" - 60 page on Patreon here.
